Jerry’s answer is Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut. Fascinating choice. While I’ve read some Vonnegut I haven’t read Timequake…yet. Still casually dropping Vonnegut issues a clear campfire memo: Jerry is attracted to stories and to sharing stories through his music. He invokes Hank Williams’ mantra: “painting pictures with words.”
The conversation connects the elements of good story writing and telling: honesty, truthfulness, heartache, being mysterious, nostalgia…what music does effortlessly.
